Beverly Willett is the author of “Disassembly Required: A Memoir of Midlife Resurrection,” her story about starting over after the American Dream implodes, which was nominated for 2020 Georgia Author of the Year. A native of Southern Maryland, Beverly practiced entertainment law and litigation in New York City before moving to Savannah. She has written for many national publications including The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Federalist, AARP Magazine, The Hill, The Washington Examiner, and more. Faith-based publications include National Catholic Register, First Things, EWTN News, The Southern Cross, America, and Commonweal. She co-founded the Coalition for Divorce Reform and has been called "one of the preeminent proponents for ending no-fault divorce in America” by CNN columnist Jill Filipovic.

 

Community involvement is very important to her, and locally she has written for Savannah Magazine, South, and Savannah Morning News. She also gave a popular Savannah Tedx Talk entitled “How to Begin Again.” She is past President of the Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home Foundation, served on the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless and ATC boards, co-produced the documentary for public television entitled “Without A Roof.” Currently she serves on the Lector Guild at her home parish.

 

Beverly holds a BA in Political Science from Penn State University and a JD from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America. She has two grown daughters.
